Sweater Girls (1979). Italian Locandia

£65.00

Sweater Girls (1979). Italian Locandia (13" X 26.6"). Unrestored poster appears unused. Rolled Very Fine+. Now for the confusing bit: To drive ticket sales Italian distributors frequently renamed obscure foreign films to capitalize on massive pop-culture trends. Because the TV sitcom Happy Days was a cultural phenomenon in Italy during the late 1970s this unrelated film was deceptively retitled:Italian Title: I ragazzi di "Happy Days" — le ragazze Pullover (The Boys of "Happy Days" — The Pullover Girls). The Artwork: The central character on the motorcycle is intentionally illustrated to look exactly like Henry Winkler's famous character Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli complete with a leather jacket slicked-back hair and a pocket comb despite the actor and character having absolutely nothing to do with the actual movie.
